Sound Cannons Used for Evil

Constitutional rights were set aside as 4,000 or so riot police became trigger, baton, teargas and all around force happy towards protesters, passers-by and anyone in their sights surrounding the G20 Summit in Pittsburgh last week. Welcome to authoritarianism. The true rioters were actually the police themselves. Aside from the usual flex of force with baton bashing and shooting well meaning, peaceful people with rubber bullets and tear gas; police were yet again filmed dressed up as anarchists to provoke violence and justify brutality. They also busted out a new toy yet to be used in the United States on its citizens, the Sound Cannon. Unfortunately, the sonic cannon was used to blast people with piercing, damaging sounds reaching decibel levels louder than the human threshold for pain and likely permanently affecting people's hearing. Hundreds were arrested, countless wounded, the G20 went smoothly and where are we now? How about a fun fact to deviate from the subject? In California, more than 100 people are killed by police each year. This year, the officer caught shooting and killing an unarmed man in the back this past new years will finally go to trial on October 6 after countless delays and attempts to get away with murder. How many months have passed? There are surely some good cops out there. When will they stand up for real justice? This is what a police state looks like. Next time, use the sound cannons for some jungle. BOH! BOH! BOH!
